Therapeutic cupping introduces massage therapists to the safe and effective use of cupping therapy. Students will explore its history, evidence-based benefits, and modern applications while practicing non-invasive dry cupping techniques such as static placement, gliding, lifting, and toggling.
A highlight of the course is a muscle anatomy drawing activity in which students wear body suits and draw major muscle groups on each other to reinforce anatomical knowledge. These skills prepare students to apply cupping protocols for shoulder pain, low back pain and medial and lateral epicondylitis (tennis and golfer's elbow).
The course emphasizes contraindications, informed consent, sanitization and documentation to ensure safe, ethical practice. By the end, participants will be able to integrate cupping therapy confidently into massage sessions to reduce pain, improve function, and support client well-being.
